First, I trust you phonetically searched for the both surnames below on NYC Passenger Manifests

using stevemorse.org

Next since they went to Detroit, you also should search phonetically using stevemorse.org for the

Canadian Border Crossings and the Canadian Passenger Manifests for many immigrants came that

way to get to Detroit.

After that you should search for all the other cities of entry using stevemorse.org

Good luck.

I believe I may have found the Shlissel family on Ancestry's Canadian Border Crossings.  The ship is the Tunisian, arriving Quebec  on May 19, 1900.
Destination is Pincus Shlissel 340 Hastings St. Detroit. There are two other families on the same manifest going to that same address.

Here's a link to Chawe, Hersch, and Chaim leaving Liverpool for Quebec.  There should be a border crossing document into the US but I haven't found it yet, those records and indexes are spotty.

Sorry if you don't have easy access to Ancestry, I don't see the record on FS...they may not have the outbound manifests.

Found the US manifest (below).  When immigrants arrived in Canada for transit to the US they went through the standard process conducted by US immigration agents as they would have if they'd arrived at Ellis Island.  They were issued admittance passes which they then had to present on the train to their US destination.

Note that the two  families listed above Chawe; Sara Schlissel & ch, and Ester Wiesenfeld & ch, are all from Tarnobrzeg and all going to their husbands at the same address, 340 Hastings.  Pretty good bet these are relatives.

If it was Detroit perhaps they came through Canada.
