This evening, April 5,  60 Minutes, a -US based, CBS broadcasting system program did a segment on artificial intelligence having a conversation with Holocaust survivors who are no longer living.  Based on the USC Shoah Foundation recorded testimonies, Heather Maio-Smith crafted the program with in the Shoah Foundation. She is now married to the Foundation’s director, Stephen Smith.

Both said in the interview there was “pushback” on the project except for the survivors themselves. The interviews take 5 full days each answering questions which are then put into the database so regardless of how the question is posed the correct answer returns.

So far there are 20 interviews including one US Army liberator.

If you did not see the program you can access it on CBS—at least in North America.
