My grandmother had a sister and several first cousins named Ruth.  I believe they were all named after someone from her mother's family in Kezmarok, today in Slovakia.  What other names would a Ruth be named after?
Thank you,

Aside from the fact that any English name can be chosen, not one that is in any way considered an "equivalent", some common names in Eastern Europe that begin with the letter "r" are Rachel, Ruth, Reisel (spelled various ways), and Rivka,

Rivka may also be spelled as Rifka.
