Help: Hebrew use of Gis brother law in the 18th century Germany #germany #translation

Marion D

Please does anyone know if apart from 'Brother-in -law' there might be other meanings for the hebrew גיס  , used in 1770 in a Memorbook from Deutz, Germany.
I am trying to work out a complicated relationship!
Many thanks

In the dictionary there are four meanings of "gis"
the same as for "b-i-l"
May be in Germany they had some other ???

In classical Hebrew  hiss specifically relates to husbands of two sisters. This a narrower definition than modern usage of the word, as brother-in-law.
