One of my brick walls:
In Leeds, England my mum Beattie née RICHMAN was invited in 1944 to the wedding of Ethel née KASSEMOFF d/o Millie née GOLDBERG (which is where my parents met). According to a story aforementioned Ethel (died 2012) told me years ago, that the reason my Mum and her Mum, Sarah née COHEN born Sakiai, Lithuania, 1878, were invited to Ethel’s wedding was because Mum’s family were related to Ethel's maternal side.
Unfortunately, Ethel didn’t know or remember how they were related.
Ethel's maternal grandfather - Chaim Arye (Lewis) GOLDBERG - had two brothers: Myer Isaac and Max. I have found Myer and Max's naturalisation papers showing that they were from Sakiai, Lithuania. Their parents were Joseph Arye and Esther (Ethel). I also found in Leeds, Esther's tombstone (attached) died age 75 years old, in 1911 (means she was born c. 1836). It says in Hebrew, amongst other things: Esther Rachel d/o Avraham HaCOHEN from Shaki (Sakiai) Lithuania
Aforementioned Sarah nee COHEN (my maternal grandmother) was the daughter of Shmuel Yitzhak b. c. 1841 d. 1916 (in Leeds). His father was Yekutiel Zusman COHEN b. c. 1821.
Is there anyway I can prove that Shmuel and Esther were maybe cousins?
Or could Yekutiel Zusman and Esther be siblings?
I have tested on FTDNA and have started to search for GOLDBERG and COHEN relatives.
Would much appreciate any ideas, suggestions, input.

Hi Angie, my family has deep roots in Sakiai, and then in the UK. I believe we are connected to your Goldberg family. My great grandmother was Esther Dvora Fellman. Her parents were Shepsel Wolf Felman and Mera Ryvka "Miriam" Berkman(was Beniaminovich way back). Miriam owned a tavern, and Shepsel Wolf (Shabtai Zvi) was very involved in the community: he was often a witness for Bris ceremonies and marriages. Through my recent searches, I have been in touch with GOLDA ZEWI(from Turku, Finland), who has a picture of a big gathering of relatives/wedding: her family are GOLDBERGs. She would be great to get in touch with. She has pictures and is a note from Shepsel to her ancestor Solomon Goldberg(Schlome Zwi "Salomon" 1878 Sakiai-1961 Turku, Finland.), "from your best cousin" in Yiddish. We have not been able to figure out the Goldberg-Fellman connection, but we know they were cousins. I'm happy to share my tree with you if you're interested. I'm on Ancestry and MyHeritage. (just did DNA on My Heritage). Salomon's parents were Israel Reuven Goldberg and Chana Golde Bolshem.
Warmly, Judy Bowman USA Bowman/Baumgarten, Fellman, Rosenbaum, Halpern, Muskat, Berkman, Varshavsky/Warshavsky, Kopelman, Aschkenas

I am related to Golda Zewi through DNA and have triangulated with a number of relatives through surnames Goldberg/Berman/Miller/Millner/Mlynarz/Mlynarzewicz. There’s an extensive tree available on Geni that I can refer you to as well.
Best regards, Jeff Miller Maryland

My fathers maternal side is somehow related to them too, PLATSKY / LASOVSKY from Lithuania, AncestryDNA. 2nd cousin Miriam Herlen Warshofsky-SHOSKI Poland / HERSHKOVITCH Lodz she was born in England, past away couple months ago, we connected to GOLDBERG / COHEN in England, we just don't know how exactly. We don't know exactly how we even connected, she never knew her grandparent nor their names, I'm guessing from her mothers side HIRSCHKOVICH.
So I'm also interested, Cathy Walters, Elgin,MN

Re- COHEN & GOLDBERG,
Miriam Helen Warshofsky's parents Barnette Warshofsky-Shoski b. Poland 1897 & died 1937 England & Rachel Hershkovich b.1900 Lodz & d.1954 England, Helen never knew her grandparents, nor their names. Her daughter Rebecca Swiderski & Joe Ferry, I don't know of any papers, but both have tree at Ancestry. Helen Ferry died in New Jersey, we both have our DNA at Ancestry & up at GEDmatch, also daughter has her DNA also up at GEDmatch. Joe only has his DNA on Ancestry Rebecca (research59 ) hasn't been able to get on GEDmatch lately I'm A059333,Helen A890295 research59 A918591
Oh I must say I'm all excited, I'm seeing lots of surnames also connected to us. I tried to call up Judy Bowman in Ancestry search as tree owner & then tried her surnames, unless she has a dfferent user name it looks like she don't fit. I haven't tried GEDmatch, it'll take some days before I'll get to that, I'll most likely will need to mend when get back from surgery tomorrow.
Thank you Angie & all the others, lots to look forewards too !

Hi Jeff,
Shapiro,Balshem & Rappaport in DNA matches...We have no known connection to Finland, no stories at all have been past down. The sad fact we don't even know where our great grandparents are even buried, nor if in Connecticut. I keep looking for them, guess where ever they were buried at must not been worked on in the online era. I also have tons of Kantor & Cantor !
I was going to tell Angie about Magid, there is some connection to Cooklin-sp?-Cook, last year was filmed a place where family members of town was remembered from being there, in Jewishgen. After watching video, I then started noting in my DNA, I tried bringing up yesterday & couldn't find it, I wrote in notes so could be plainly seen. Oh well, got to get ready,
