How and where can I find Birth, Marriage, Death and Census records for Bukovina, Austrian-Hungarian Empire era? #austria-czech #hungary #records

Shabbat Shalom

Can any one assist me in finding Birth. Marriage, Death and Census records for Bukovina, Austrian Hungarian Empire era. At present am interested in Czernowitz, Sadgora and Mamayevsty. If I am

Successful with these towns I might need more information on other towns in Bukovina during this same time frame. Thank you in advance      Aizic Sechter from the Lone Magen David Start State of Israel

Try this site for Czernowitz
If you'll find a record, you can order a copy of the original.
For Radautz use this site You may also obtain a copy of the original document.
In order to get a meaningful result, use the correct spelling of the name (like Shechter or Shachter).

Dear Aka Saba Iso,

My father was from Czernowitz, and a few years ago I found & joined an online group dedicated to that city & in turn, to some of the surrounding area.  They have a wealth of information and an interesting discussion group, too.  If you go to: you can follow the directions to join the group.  New people are always welcome!

Harvey Weisthal

I searched for bukovina under "Keywords" in and found a lot of entries.
You will need to try it yourself to see which village you are looking for.

I managed to find some records that were Hungarian in Church records in Slovakia (under Slovakian Church and Synagogue records) from the site, .....year of the one I found was in 1877.

Good Luck
