Correcting Misinformation on the Latvia Vital Records Datbase vs. Usdin Website. #courland #latvia

Please see the updated introduction to the Latvia Vital Records Database at https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/latvia/latviavitalrecords.html . This should correct the omgoing misconception that you need to go to the Usdin website to retrieve her translations of Latvian vital records, almost all of which (with the exception of some Riga vital records which she did not live long enough to translate) are included in the JewishGen Latvia database.

At the above link, under "The Format of the Vital Records," it says, "The left side is completed in Russian [or very occasionally in German, in the case of Courland]; and on the facing page the same data is entered in Hebrew."

A minor question, but is the data on the facing page entered in Hebrew or Yiddish?

Thank you,

David
