Emigration from the UK to the US #records

I have identified what may be my family group outbound from Hamburg on
the Argo in June 1879. A very helpful JewGen participant advised that Argo was only a local boat that likely disembarked passengers at Hull for train travel to Liverpool or other ports for the longer journey to New York. The Hamburg records indicate the family had New York as a destination, but that may only indicate that they had booked through passage, not necessarily all on the Argo. . I cannot find any record of them disembarking at Hull or emigrating from another port to the US, but I am unfamiliar with UK records. Would disembarkation for through travelers and subsequent departure from the UK have required recording in UK immigration records? I'd appreciate any suggestions about what records exist and where I should be looking for them. An additional oddity: The family left Hamburg under the surname of 'Rinschek', but that name never appears again in any of the UK or US immigration or post-immigration records I've looked at, ranging from city directories to census reports. Much the same here, I have families who split went to USA and one stayed in UK, I can only find 1 record for a neutralisation in USA, they all travelled in early 1900. Been on a long journey myself looking - told a few weeks ago by a kind gent on here that the UK didn't have many records at all for incoming as they assumed most would just land and then go elsewhere. I can suggest though if you are on Ancestry to do a search with the beginning of the surname and end it with * as this will then bring up an array of spellings (and mistakes in spellings), also don't just look at the records straight from the search, look at original document that you can 'view' I found a couple with 3 different variations of the spelling of mine.

There were only 18 passengers, 7 families, on the Argo, leaving Hamburg on 24 June, 1879 : Wagner, Grunberg, Mendelsohn, Raplan/Kaplan, Manfried, Rinschek, Ranquist. In my experience as a contributor to the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild https://www.immigrantships.net/ I found people traveling to England from Hamburg and bound for the USA via Liverpool were often found listed close together on both ships. Searching NY arrivals in 1879 for each family in turn yielded only one result. Manfried on the Scythia, arriving NY on 9 July. Close examination of the Scythia manifest showed 13 of the Argo passengers, 5 families, all together, line by line. The handwriting on the Argo manifest was unusually clear and legible, but on the Scythia so difficult to read that the family names were barely recognizable. One exception, Raplan, was clearly written as Kaplan. Also, an additional member of the Grunberg family appears.
