Bessarabia New project - immigration to South America #bessarabia

My ancestors came from Ekaterinoslav and Teleshti to Brazil, through JCA.
is it possible to search for their names in the archives?

Hello Salmo. I got some immigration data and documents regarding Brazil by searching at My Heritage. It is probable to get this information by searching also in other Genealogy sites. I can be of help if you wish to search for people buried in  Jewish cemeteries in Brazil. Best regards . Paulo Abrahamsohn. São Paulo. Brazil.

Hello Salmo,

I hope that Teleshti is in fact Teleneshty, and if so, we do have some records from that place in our JewishGen/Bessarabia database. I also recommend you to post a message at the Discussion group with hashtage #bessarabia with the surnames/names/years  you are researching.   There are members interested in Bessarabia who might have same names/towns in their family trees.

All the best,

Hi Salmo,
a good (free) resource is FamilySearch's Brazilian Rio de Janeiro Immigration Cards. Although restricted to Rio de Janeiro, if you do not know from where did they enter Brazil, it's worth a try.

Hello Salmo

Try contacting the Sociedade de Genealogia Judaica do Rio de Janeiro - SGJRJ - Página inicial | Facebook.

There is another one in São Paulo, the Sociedade Genealógica Judaica de São Paulo,

The Centro da Memória do Museu Judaico de São Paulo  has some documents on JCA immigrants.

Good luck
