Seeking recommendations for a researcher in Germany #germany

Greetings - We are planning a spring 2022 trip to Germany and would like to find a genealogist/guide to help us investigate some records while we are there. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Researching the name "Kleiber" in the Munich area.

Thank you,

I'd suggest just googling "Geneaologists in Germany" if you can't get a personal recommendation. I have several friends in Germany who are big into geneaology and will ask them if they know of anyone.

Dear Elizabeth Kaminsky,
ask By a letter the Archive of the place.
Janet Furba,

Hi Elizabeth
If you have to do researches in Munich city it will be important to do some researches before you'll go there.
I know that in Munich there are four or five archives which could have documents which could be important for you.
There are also some online archives where different kinds of documents from Munich city are available online.
Most important for my own researches were the "Gedenkbuch der Münchner Juden" and the Arolsen Archives.
But there are also the city directories, lists of students of the university and army records of WWI available online.
The Stadtarchiv, the Berzirksarchiv and the Staatsarchiv do have some more records which could be important for you.

sorry - I'm not familiar with genealogists/guides in Munich area.
just in case you are not aware of the Kleiber clan from Buttenwiesen, you can see their records through the unified search on Jewishgen, if you enter Buttenwiesen and Kleiber;
good luck,

Jewishgen has an info file that lists researchers in Germany.
