Witnessing Holocaust History: From Generation to Generation – Making a Case for Genealogy Monday, Aug 02, 2021 10:00 AM - 10pm Perth time The Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center (HAMEC) in Philadelphia, World ORT in London, and the WE ARE HERE! Foundation in Perth, Australia, have newly partnered to provide an international experience of Holocaust education and remembrance to students around the world. This worldwide project commemorates the Holocaust, and provides opportunities for global Holocaust education. It engages the next generation of learners in understanding the importance of their own family histories, teaching how to research and record these. They are shown how to rebuild broken family chains using genealogical tools. Students learn how to describe and share their own discoveries and experiences and connect globally via Zoom, YouTube and Facebook. These online meetings include multi-language survivor interviews and testimonies as well as up to thirty language versions of the Partisans’ Song, and so resonates with students in their home languages, such as English, French, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, Dutch and Bulgarian.
