The next program from the Jewish Genealogy Society of Pittsburgh will be “Practical Genetic Genealogy & Endogamy: Making Sense of Your Ashkenazi Jewish DNA Matches” with Adina Newman.
Does your family tree look like tumbleweed? Do you have thousands upon thousands of DNA matches that make no sense? DNA matches that don’t show up for your parents, or matches that seem to all match each other? Don’t give up! Learn tips and techniques to mitigate the effects of endogamy in your DNA family search.
Adina Newman, EdD, is the owner of My Family Genie, where she assists clients with their research and blogs about her own family history. Her main interests are in Jewish genealogy, genetic genealogy, and New England. She has a doctorate in educational leadership and the certificate in genealogical research from Boston University. She volunteers as a Facebook moderator for a Jewish genetic genealogy group, Social Media Coordinator for NextGen Genealogy Network, and a discussion leader for ProGen 50. She was also a 2020 recipient of the AncestryProGenealogists scholarship.
Cost for this program is $5 USD. All programs are free for members of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Pittsburgh.
