Moscow vital records or revision list #russia #records
Harlan Weller
I have been told that various members of my ggm's family were born or lived in Moscow during the period 1870-1894. Does anyone have ideas for locating official records that could document residences/births/deaths/marriages.?
Thank you Harlan Weller harlan.weller@...

While I haven't had any direct experience with this archive, I did a search for Moscow archives, and found that the Central State Archives for the City of Moscow seems to have metrical books and revision lists for Moscow city, including Jewish records. A summary of their holdings can be found at: Ted Gostin

Hi, Ted! You need the fund 2372 in Moscow State Archive (metrical books of the synagogue of Moscow). These vital records are not placed to archive's site. But I have screen copies of most of these records.
