Shtetl in Volhynia named Radishevka #ukraine #general
Paul Silverstone
It was well-known in our family that the Finkelsteins came from Shumsk, in Volhynia, Ukraine. My grandfather on his Canadian naturalization said he was
born in Radishevka, also made by his younger sister Eva. They arrived in Canada in 1882. I have been unable to find a place with that name in Volhynia. Suggestions are welcome as where this place might be or its true name. Paul Silverstone West Vancouver, BC paulh2@... |

There is a small village by the name of RADOSHIVKA, 50 11 N 26 53 E 34.3 miles W of Shumsk. The "ivka" ending is Ukrainian. RADOSHEVKA (or RADISHEVKA) would be the way the town was known by your ancestors in Yiddish.
