Major new Zambrów, Lomza area, Poland records extraction project started #poland #records

steven@...

Long-time Zambrów and area researchers will be pleased to learn that Jewish Records Indexing - Poland (jri-poland.org) as undertaken a huge new “Phase 3” project to fully extract all surviving Zambrów birth, marriage and death records from 1826 to 1912 in the Łomża branch of the Polish State Archives. In addition, we created indices (with fathers’ names) for the surviving 1914 and 1922 to 1935 records. Several years of Alegata records are also included.

(Alegata - also known as Marriage Supplements or Annexes - are a group of documents that form a more detailed record of the betrothal than the marriage record.  Alegata files include the marriage banns posted in the synagogue for 3 consecutive weeks. Other documents may be birth protocols (extracts of original registrations or sworn statements) for the bride and groom, divorce or army records. There is often additional valuable information in Alegata files that does not appear in the marriage record.)

The 1826 to 1839 records are actually from nearby Sniadowo where Jews registered their life-cycle events in those years.

As Town Leader, it would be my pleasure to send you a full description of the Phase 3 project and explain how you will be able to obtain these extracts as well as digital images of your family records up to 1912, before they go online.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Steven:

I would like help finding the Marriage records of Pesha Leah Dmoocher and David Israelski.  The marriage took place in Lomza between 1895-1900.  I have exhausted my search through records available on JRI-Poland.

I would also like to donate to help your work.

My family line runs thru Zambrow.

Good luck on your project.

Hi Steven,

I am looking for info on the RATUSIEWICZ  family of Zambrow. My G G Grandmother Gitel RATUSIEWICZ was born in Zambrow c. 1864 and married Judka Leiba Wizanski of Suwalki in c. 1888
There is birth/death record of their son Bencjon in 1890 but i am looking for their marriage record & Gitel's birth record. Shortly after Bencjon death they move to Ciechanow where there only surviving son Alter was born.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ari Tesler
