My great-grandmother was Yetta (Jetta, Etel) Smarkowitz from Jelgava, Latvia.  I recently found a man a share DNA wtih who has Smarkovitz ancestors from Lithuania.  We are trying to figure out how we are related.  We cannot find anyone else with Smarkowitz in their trees, but we both share DNA with a lot of people named Markowitz.

I am wondering if anyone out there who has the name of Markowitz either themselves or in their trees, ever heard of  anyone named Smarkowitz from either Latvia or Lithuania.
