FamilySearch is one of the largest genealogical databases in
the world, containing billions of records from all parts of the world. In this
presentation we will discuss how best to use record search, the research wiki,
genealogies and the catalog to find your families. There are also resources
available to help you learn about Jewish research including the Wiki and
Learning Center. Finally, we'll explore options for you to get research help
via free services like the Community, Virtual Genealogy Consultations, Family
History Centers, and the Record Lookup Service.
W. Todd Knowles is a Deputy Chief Genealogical Officer at
FamilySearch, where he has worked for 22 years. His own journey in family
history began at an early age, searching for his great grandfather, a Polish
Jew. From those early beginnings, the Knowles collection was created. The
Knowles Collection is comprised of 6 databases that contain the genealogical
records of 1.5 million Jews. The collection is available at FamilySearch.org.
