Dear JewishGenners:
The November 16, 2022 edition of the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita carried a notice from the Warsaw Mayor's office, Department of Bierut Decree Affairs, indicating that the city is seeking the heirs of the following pre-war property owners in order to resolve title to several properties.
The city is in possession of correspondence dated December 23 and 24, 1948 and August 31, 1949 in which Chana ROTLEWI of 247, rue Saint-Martin, Paris, France submitted a claim for these properties. The claim was not adjudicated at the time and the city of Warsaw has not had any contact with this family in the last thirty years.
The properties in question are:
ul, Smocza, corner of ul. Dzielna;
ul. Dzika, corner of Wolińska;
ul. Gęsia 47 & 49.
The above are all formally owned by Benjamin & Dacha (née ROTLEWI) SZUCH whose heirs are being sought.
An additional property is owned by relatives of the above:
ul. Okopowa 80 (or 88) owned by Józef & Dora (née ROTLEWI) HOCHMAN.
Any heirs or anyone with information about heirs is asked to contact the Warsaw Mayor's office within a period of six months from the date of this notice.
