Dear JewishGenners:

The November 28, 2022 edition of the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza carried a legal notice from the Regional Court of Central Łódź [Sąd Rejonowy dla Łodzi-Śródmieścia], Eighteenth Civil Division, on behalf of the State Treasury as represented by the Mayor of Łódź, indicating that the Court is preparing to declare the following individuals deceased:

Szlama CEDERBAUM, son of Moszko Jakub & Judesa (née ELBINGER), born in Łódź on April 1/13, 1897;

Estera Pessa (née GROSKOPF) CEDERBAUM, daughter of Lajbuś & Hajna Cywia (née ROTENBERG), born in Piotrków Trybunalski on October 2/14, 1895;

Izrael CEDERBAUM, son of Szlama & Estera (née GROSKOPF), born in Łódź on September 21, 1924;

Icchak Josef CEDERBAUM, son of Szlama & Estera (née GROSKOPF), born in Łódź on September 20, 1927; and

Sara Bluma CEDERBAUM, daughter of Szlama & Estera (née GROSKOPF), born in Łódź on September 15, 1930.

The last residence of all of the above is thought to be Łódź.

Any of the above or anyone with knowledge of their fate is asked to contact the Court directly. making reference to Docket No. XVIII Ns 313/22.

I think that the two born in the 1890s are very unlikely to be alive - so I hope the court comes to  the right conclusion at least for them.

One of my GEWELBE ancestral cousins married a CEDERBAUM from Warsaw - and I wonder whether it is the same family.
