Seeking help identifying a NY synagogue in 1895 #usa
I'm trying to identify the shul/synagogue from a relative's marriage certificate. The marriage took place in NY in 1895 and the Rabbi was a Dr. Louis A. Alexander.
It's hard to make out from the marriage certificate (attached) but it seems the synagogue is Congregation Atereth _____? The address might be W 24th or 124th street? I tried searching the database here, but couldn't find anything that seemed to be a possible match: https://genealogy.cjh.org/synagogue-list Any help or clues would be appreciated -- thanks! Synagogue Atereth Ts'bi. Found on page 207 of The American Hebrew, vol 59 (1896): https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_American_Hebrew/F2opAAAAYAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=0

This record of Rabbi Alexander's naturalization clarifies the address -- "209 W. 124 St. N.Y. City": Note that the entry on the marriage record says "Residence" -- so 209 W. 124th may have been the Rabbi's home rather than the location of the synagogue. There was an Atereth Israel on the east side of Manhattan, but entries on GoogleBooks suggest that its rabbi in 1895 was Marcus Krauskopf. Not to mention the distance from 209 West 124th St. to 323 East 82nd St. If Rabbi Alexander was Shomer Shabbat, he would have had an awfully long walk to shul. This is probably Rabbi Alexander's grave, in Massachusetts: Renee On Sun, Jan 22, 2023 at 1:46 PM Mordy Golding <mordy@...> wrote:

FamilySearch.org shows Trow's 1895-1896 New York City Directory, which includes a Rev. Louis A. Alexander, occupation school, home 212 W. 124th St.
