Submitting Inquiries to Arolsen Archives #holocaust
Lewis, Megan
USHMM's names database is at www.ushmm.org/online/hsv/person_advance_search.php, which includes names from the Arolson Archives but also many, many archival collections.
As a general rule, Arolsen Archives has less information the farther east you go. For Romania, the best information is for those from northern Transylvania. However, the USHMM name database includes many lists from other parts of Romania. For Ukraine, there is some material in the Arolsen Archives for eastern Galicia, but again the USHMM names database might provide more results. Try the U.S.H.M.M. They have many documents from Arolsen that have yet to appear on Arolsen's own site.

In addition to conducting your own research, you can submit inquiries to the Arolsen Archives. Not all documents are online yet, so we will be happy to help you clarify the fates of individuals and trace their paths of persecution. Send inquiryMy emphasis. -- Odeda Zlotnick Jerusalem, Israel. |
