I am trying to get photo of the checkpoint of US occupied Allied zone in Vienna on approach from travel from Bratislava to Austria. Vienna was in Russian zone on approach but there was a glass walled hut in which my mom says she ran and as soon as she was thru it was American zone. I asked USHMM and they suggested I contact a military archive which did not even reply and I also tried Jewish American Veterans without reply.
I think it would be special to show my mom this very same structure she ran to and through so many years ago on her way to safety via the last Bricha.
