Hi from Paris,
You directly access and search Bad Arolsen archives with this link :https://arolsen-archives.org/en/search-explore/search-online-archive/
Be aware of their advice : only a part of victim's archives are on line.
If you find or if you search somebody, fill the "inquiry form" : https://arolsen-archives.org/en/search-explore/inquiries/submit-inquiry/
They reply always, but delay can be some weeks.
Apart from archives of deportation, nazis camps and DP's camps, they detain some personnal objects of our "Losts" and try to give them back to descendants.

I understand that using the US Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) system to access these archives is more complete than using the Arolsen Archives website.  One can either access the USHMM in person or via email or phone.  There are several other locations aroudn the world which have direct access to the system.

May be helpful to know...
When searching on Bad Arolsen, there are many results (with record images) that do not show up on ushmm searches. ushmm has a vast record collection but only a percentage, like Bad Arolsen, have been digitized and indexed to be made available online.
I also find info on Yad Vashem database that isn’t on ushmm and vice versa.
Yad Vashem often doesn’t have images that ushmm has. Important to cross check all three databases and any others.
ushmm has also has a very useful collections search.

Dear Detectives,
Institutions don't share their data basis instantly at any new change.
Sometimes they share a batch of documents and after, each one add and work its way.
And I don't speak about copyrights..
Neither they put online all their documents.
As described by Freda, you will not find every data available in USHMM, Yad Vashem, Memorial de la Shoah in Paris or Bad Arolsen : it would be to easy !
So you must understand what each institution can deliver at best for you.
Conclusion : you must search these data basis one after the other and fill each "inquiry form" to be sure to get their full batch of documents according to your own searches.
