Burial Records in the Tel Aviv area #israel
jamieromer@...
Hi
I would like to find the location of the graves of some great uncles and aunts who did not have children. One of them died in the 1960s and the other two in c. 1990. They lived in the tel aviv area. I am not having any luck on the online burial registry. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to go about searching for this please? I would be very grateful for any assistance! Jamie Romer |

I have found the mobile app Gravez very useful.

HiAre you referring to the JewishGen Online Worldwide Burial Registry? Try billiongraves.com - they have and extensive database of graves in Israel, and gravez.me -- Odeda Zlotnick Jerusalem, Israel. |

Hi,
You can use GRAVEZ https://gravez.me/search and search the central area and maybe you will be required to narrow your search. Another source is the Hevrah Kadisha of Tel Aviv website. Search at Google -- Emanuel Binder Haifa, Israel emanub@... |

In Israel there is a grave search engine - gravez.me. The software searches the burial records (in Hebrew) of many cemeteries in Israel, according to basic data: first name, last name, father's name and place of burial (there is an option to select a specific cemetery or a defined group of cemeteries (for example, Tel Aviv and the Center). I can help if you will give me details. Joseph Godelnik Jgodelnik |

Shimy Karni
Hi, maybe the name is different from the translation from English name to Hebrew name. If you want you can write me the names and I will search for you. Best Regards, Shimi Karni, Israel בתאריך יום ד׳, 1 בפבר׳ 2023 ב-9:24 מאת JOSEPH GODELNIK via groups.jewishgen.org <n_godelnik=yahoo.com@...>:

I use Hebrew to search Israeli data bases. There is also an Android app called Gravez. My understanding is they use the chevra kadisha records (I found a mistake that seems to be from poor handwriting) to list names, but also have photos of the gravestones. When searching indexes, use as few fields as possible and various fields. E.g. given+family name/Given name and DOD/ family name and DOD/fathers name and given name etc. Remember that computerization came in at most areas was about the 1980s. 1960 may have been Kiryat Shaul, 1990 may have been Yarkon cemetery. You can write me off-list but include Hebrew and non-Hebrew names, father's name, date of death or burial, if you have an obituary or newspaper notice, send that. Not needed for search: Spouse, children names. Sometimes helpful: Original birth names. Name of previous spouse if famous or Rabbinical.
