Chanukah's over...But we have a present for you! ūüēé #JewishGenUpdates

Avraham Groll

Dear Friends,

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response to our JewishGen 2.0 Campaign, and I hope to keep you updated as we progress. In the meantime, we are still focused on improving and securing our current site, and in this regard, we have a significant and exciting Post-Chanukah present for you: Researchers can now utilize the OR modifier when searching for names or towns!

Consider the following example:

You are interested to search the name COHEN or GOLDBERG within the town of Krakow, Poland. Previously, you would have to run two separate searches. With our new change, you can now perform just one search. It's simple to do this - add both names in the Surname search field with a comma between the two names you are searching. It would look like this: COHEN,GOLDBERG.

You can also search for multiple towns at the same time. For example, let's say that you are interested to search for COHEN in the town of either Krakow, Poland or Podgroze, Poland. With our new change, you can enter COHEN in the surname field, and then enter Krakow,Podgroze in the town field.

As a reminder, you can also search by AND by simply adding a space between two search terms. For example, if you are interested to search for COHEN and GOLDBERG, simply enter the names as COHEN GOLDBERG in the surname field.

We hope you will find this feature useful and that it will provide benefit and value as you search our collections.

While we continue to strive for improvement, I must also ask for your your help  to help us maintain what we have, and to help us plan for the future.
