I am researching and writing a history of the Jews of Salem, Massachusetts.  I am seeking any information and resources regarding Charles Dreyfus.  Charles Dreyfus, born in Bavaria in 1836, was a clothing merchant in downtown Salem, Massachusetts between about 1874 and 1894.  He served in the Confederate Army in Texas 1861 to 1862.  He may have had family in Cincinnati. He was later a founding member of Temple Israel in Boston.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.
