Does anyone know how to order records from Dobrowa Tarnowska (Poland) at AGAD? From the JRI-Poland site there doesn't appear to be a branch in the town.
Thank you. Richard Stower

Richard,
The Jewish vital records from Dąbrowa Tarnowska are not held at AGAD. They are mostly in the Tarnów branch of the Polish State Archives. The Town Page for this town at JRI-Poland shows that Birth records 1882-1913 are held in Archive 33 (Tarnów), Fond 374, and Marriage records 1919 are held in Archive 29 (Kraków), Fond 526. In fact the same Fond at the Tarnów Archive now also holds the Birth records up through 1917, Death records 1916-1936 and Marriage records 1915-1937 (except 1919). If you need to contact them for records which have not yet been scanned the contact information will depend on which branch of the PSA has the records you need. Information about how to do this can be found here: https://jri-poland.org/psa/neworder.htm You can find the contact information here: https://jri-poland.org/psa/addresses.htm Scanned images of some of these records are also on the website https://www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl/ where you can view and download them if you know the year and record number(s). At this time they have only scanned the Birth records 1882-1903. This is where I found the 1894 birth record for Reizel KANNER which I sent you in 2016. Howard Fink genKnowHow@... Howard Fink has comprehensively answered your question - no records before 1882 seem to have survived. This is unfortunate, because my MILLET family came from Dąbrowa Tarnowska.
It might be worth your while checking to see if relatives were born, married or died in Tarnow, the nearest city. If you want to know what happened to the Jews of Dąbrowa Tarnowska during the Shoah, this is an excellent and comprehensive account https://www.forewordreviews.com/reviews/hunt-for-the-jews/ Ric Cooper (NB: Not related to any COOPERs!)
