familysearch.org letter/number Id. #general

Lowell Nigoff

When using familysearch.org/ is the letter/number combination a unique identifier for a particular individual. An example might be: LDYD-3H1 or KZN2-MZM.

Second are these letter/numbers random.

Thanks

Yes, they are unique to the person they're assigned to. They are created by Family Search when a person is first entered into the database. They appear to be random.
