Familysearch port of origin potential error (e.g. Boulogne Sur Mer in Argentina instead of France) #general #announcements
kosfiszer8@...
I just noticed that for arrivals in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay the records in Familysearch (based on a book of passengers) showed Boulogne Sur Mer, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, instead of Boulogne Sur Mer in France as the port of origin.
I also noticed similar issues with the port of Marseille in France. Familysearch allows the editing of the data on the individual record, but this seems to me to be a general problem that needs to be addressed at a higher level than a record. -- Angel KosfiszerRichardson, Texas

You should be able to contact them, but it seems that their contact mechanisms have changed. Try emailing them at nasupport@.... They should be able to direct your general comment to the correct department or at least point you in the right direction to someone who can address the issue.

Notice Boulogne sur mer in Bienos Aires, Argentina is an inland town. It could mean a place of origin but not a port of any kind.
Hope this helps. Alberto Guido Chester Buenos Aires, Argentina
