Full Naturalization Record Help #records

David Levine

Hi everyone,

Through FamilySearch, I found this Index record with a photo on Fold 3 (see screenshot below)
I consulted this site https://www.germanroots.com/new-york-city-naturalization-records.html to try to determine if the actual record is online
However, I am not certain where to look.
My understanding of the record is that the naturalization petition was filed with the US District Court for the Eastern District of NY
Does anyone know if the full record is online?

Best Regards,
David Levine

The detail for many years can be found by going directly to the petition at FamilySearch. See the article at http://www.jgsob.org/KingsNY-naturalizations.html to describe how this can be accomplished.

These petitions are indeed on Family Search but not indexed.   You cannot find them by searching in records.   Go to the dropdown menu for search and click on catalogs.
Then under "place" type United States"
Scroll down to the 4th page where you will find "United States - Naturalization and Citizenship (73)
click on that and armed with your petition number you can find your petition number listed i the proper file for that number series

This also work for NY Southern District Court - just scroll own further from the Eastern District - and for many other court jurisdictions throughout the USA

The Kings County application calls for extensive information on the applicant. I'm searching for additional information concerning an 1897 Petition in the Southern District of NY. That petition does not call for similar detail. Are there other underlying documents that would have been submitted to the Southern District along with the Petition itself that might contain additional detail?
The Petition can be found at Family Search at the following:  https://tinyurl.com/7zhy4wbx

I appreciate any comments on this, and kind regards
