A few months ago the Historical Jewish Press website was given a long-awaited upgrade, making the digital archive a more powerful tool that gives users many new possibilities and options to dive deeply into the rich resources it provides. We will demonstrate how to best utilize the new platform for optimal results.

The Historical Jewish Press website (of the National Library of Israel and Tel Aviv University) is a rich repository of digitized Jewish newspapers and periodicals. It contains over 3 million pages, 400 titles from a wide geographical range (from North America to North Africa, from Eastern Europe to the land of Israel and more) and a wide variety of languages (Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, French, Spanish, English and more). These records, all fully searchable, shed light on modern Jewry in local and global contexts, providing rich resources for educators and scholars alike.

The Judaica Division is pleased to partner with the National Library of Israel in this significant project
