Hello all! The Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island is delighted to invite you to our bonus monthly meeting in honor of the Persian New Year featuring our guest speaker, Dr. Houman Sarshar.

Wednesday, March 10th, 7:00 PM, via Zoom Speaker: Dr. Houman Sarshar Dr. Houman Sarshar will present a 50-minute slide-show lecture about the 2,700-year history of the Jews of Iran and their role in Iran's culture and history. An independent scholar, Dr. Sarshar is the co-editor of three volumes of The Contemporary History of Iranian Jews and a contributing author to The Encyclopædia Iranica and The Encyclopedia of Jews in the Islamic World. His publications also include Esther’s Children: A Portrait of Iranian Jews and The Jews of Iran: The History, Religion, and Culture of a Community in the Islamic World. He is the founder of the Kimia Foundation, a culture foundation dedicated to promoting the art, culture, and history of Iran. There are two ways to join our meeting:
