King David Cemetery, Queens #usa
Gail H. Marcus
A relative of mine says that members of his family were buried at King David Cemetery in Queens.
I haven't been able to find this cemetery. Does anyone know of a cemetery by this name in this location? (I find a King David Cemetery in Putnam Valley, and a Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, but neither of these have family members buried there. I'm wondering if there might be a closed cemetery that matches his description. Gail Marcus Bethesda, MD

It it possible that they confused the name of the cemetery with the name of the burial society in whose section they are buried within a larger cemetery? My ancestors are buried in the Crown of David Sick and Benevolent Association section of Mount Zion Cemetery in Queens; it appears this burial society also purchased sections of other Queens cemeteries (Montefiore, Mount Carmel, etc.).

It might be Beth David which is just over the city line in Elmont, Nassau County.

Did you call the cemetery office at Beth David? We found a number of relatives buried in NY cemeteries who did not show up in online searches.

Gail, If he confused the name of the society with the name of the cemetery, here are a few possibilities found at: https://jgsny.org/searchable-databases/burial-society-databases/burialsoc-joodb
You can search some NYC area cemetery databases on-line at: http://www.museumoffamilyhistory.com/erc-scdb.htm Some cemeteries allow search by name and/or society, and some by name only. Regards, Sherri Bobish

Another possibility is King Solomon Memorial Park in Clifton, New Jersey. Not in Queens, but over time, people's memories become faulty.

Beth David like other cemetery databases is not always correct. I found a grave there and when I checked the online database this person was not there. I called their office and they did a card check, found him and added him into their database. Diane Jacobs PS: You can do an online search by name and also by society. By society, all those listed will come up. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Perhaps you are looking for a Society that is called The King David Abe Koser Benevolent Society, That society is located at both Mt Lebanon Cemetery in Queens, and at Old Montifiore Cemetery in Queens, The Old Montifiore Cemetery has a few different locations for the King David Society. Mt. Lebanon Cemetery has one location for that society.
Both have cemeteries have on line locators/finders to find burials. Hope this helps. Elayne Block

There is also a King David(s) Benevolent Society at the Washington Cemetery in Brooklyn. I am familiar with this burial society. It was formerly the David Lodge #5, which was part of defunct fraternal organization, called Kesher Shel Barzel.
There is a small file, on the Davids Benevolent Society, on microfilm at the Center for Jewish History.

Unfortunately, Beth David does not have an online database. Renee
