KT teenagers placed North in Thirlby England 1939-40 #unitedkingdom

Does anyone have any information on the following on the Journey of a Kinder (our late father)
We have done my own research but unable to find any details

After general KT arrival in Harwich ( in our case Jan. 1939), our father , Kurt Ehrmann (11.7.1922) age 16,  was
relocated from Dovercourt (holding area during harsh winter) to Thirlby/Grange in North York (approx. 8 hours north)?
We believe he was moved to a farm owned and operated by a "Mrs. Hebden" (this is an artifact I was able to recover-see attached) which we believe is in the Spring of 1939.
I would be grateful if anyone knows of this area or any other details pertaining to these events.
Thank you in advance.

Anyone can search in UK National Archive for people who were in the Uk 29 September 1939,  This was when a registration of everybody was taken to provide Identity Cards and Ration Books, after the introduction of our National Health Service these registers were used until 1991 for everybody and kept updated locally, but for 1939 they included nearly everyone.  Many Search Engines have this information of people who would be known from their birth date to be over 100 years of age.  There are useful search notes on the National Archive web pages. which would have thought were easily found wherever you are on this planet.

Kindertransport children are on both Ancestry and FindmyPast websites, where you can find their Alien Registration cards. Using this information together with the 1939 Register (also on FindmyPast, where you can download the original ) offers useful information for the addresses these children lived in in 1939.

In addition to the information supplied by David Harrison and Jill Whitehead make an application to World Jewish Relief at the following
https://www.worldjewishrelief.org/about-us/your-family-history they have the files for about 55,000 refugees including on the Kindertransport who came to the UK before and after WWII.

Kurt, I have also hit a brick wall trying to learn more about my father, Ludwig Hahn's residence in England, where he arrived in February 1939 just shy of 16.  I believe he spent most of the next two years in and around Manchester until his aunt in the U.S. was able to obtain a visa for him. Even after getting his visa, his trip to the US was cancelled once until his "number came up," as my dad referred to the quota. I've written to the Kindertransport organization and another agency with no success. Interestingly, Ehrmann is a prominent name in my dad's ancestry - his grandmother was an Ehrmann and the Ehrmanns were prominent in his town of Bergen, which is now part of Frankfurt. They originally were from Gross Zimmern in Hesse. I have also discovered that his grandmother had a brother, Gustave/Gerhard Ehrmann, who came to the US in the 19th c, and has many descendants, whom I've identified through DNA matches. Where are your Ehrmanns from?

Thirlby Grange is a farm just outside a small village called Thirlby in North Yorkshire. It is near Thirsk, which has a Racecourse I use to go to with my Dad. Thirsk is the setting for a series of books about a vet too.  It was made into a TV drama.

Put the following coordinates in Google maps and you'll get to Thirlby Grange.
54.2504062, -1.2590668

I searched for the place and it came up with this little web site which mentions Thirlby Grange. It might be worth contacting the authors for more info.

It is in a lovely part of England IMHO.

Good luck
