LDS original #general
Hannah Goldner
On JewishGen I found my grandmother's birth listing with the LDS # and volume number. Is there a way for me to see the original?

If you are referring to a record in the Jewish Records Indexing - Poland database,
also displayed on JewishGen, write to the Town Leader for the project.
The simplest way is to write to questions@... or [townname]@jri-poland.org

Thanks, but it's not Poland, it's Hungary. Can I just substitute the name of the country?

If it is an LDS film #, you can log into familysearch.org.
It's free. Sign up as non church member. Search Catalog put in the film # in that drop down and search for it. You can email me directly if you need help. m_tobiasiewicz@... -- Maryellen Tobiasiewiczfamily from: Bielsko-Biala powiat Poland

Which of the JewishGen databases includes the record? The Hungarian database includes LDS (i.e. FamilySearch) film and volume numbers for records indexed from the LDS collection. Many of these are available on line at FamilySearch.org. Please contact me off-list if you have questions.
