LitvakSIG welcomes welcome Simon Zelman new Zarasai District Research Coordinator #lithuania

Carol Hoffman

We are excited and honored to announce a new volunteer on our team at LitvakSIG. Simon Zelman has become the District Coordinator for the
Zarasai District. Welcome Simon!

Simon was born in Lithuania, and his family immigrated to the US when he was a child. His interest in genealogy started from a young age asa way to explore his roots and feel more connected to the country of his birth, of which he knew little about. Over the last 20 years, he has gone from barely knowing the names of his great-grandparents to building out a family tree of over 6,000 people, with some branches reaching well into the 1600s. Genealogy gives him the opportunity to
use his passion for languages (he speaks Russian, French, and Spanishand can understand some Yiddish, Ukrainian, Polish, and Lithuanian)
and research/puzzle/detective skills.

Simon lives in San Francisco and works in the digital advertising industry. He is super excited to work with such an amazing
organization and looks forward to helping people on their genealogical journeys!

We thank all of you, our LitvakSIG contributors and members for your support and wish you continued success in your searches. Simon, thank
you!
