The brother of my great grand father Rabbi Ya’akov Mordechai Bespaloff (1855-1915) was the head of the rabbinical court of Poltava and a close companion of Grand Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneerson of Lubavitch (the “Rebbe Rashab,” 1860-1920). I am sure that there are stories about him and his family and his parents in the chabad literature but I do not know how to find them plus I do not read yiddish. Any help would be very appreciated. I don't know where you live but there may be a Chabad facility in your area. Call them. If not, go to chabad.org and email or call them. I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction.
