Family History Today: Jewish Landsmanshaftn - Hometown Societies in the New World
Featuring Daniel Soyer, author of Jewish Immigrant Association and American Identity in New York, 1880-1939

Thursday, December 15, 5 pm Eastern Time (U.S./Canada)

Did you know that New York City was once home to 3,000 landsmanshaftn? If your family lived in New York (or another major Jewish hub, like Philadelphia or Chicago), it's likely that at least a few of your ancestors were members of a landsmanshaft. Please join us to learn about the development of these important organizations and the crucial role they played in Eastern European Jewish communities in America.

Tickets: Pay what you wish. Register here to receive a Zoom link.

This program is sponsored by the Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute at the Center for Jewish History.
