RYDEL & GŁOWIŃSKI, Włocławek (and possibly Stryków?), Poland #poland
This time, I offer the following information for purely informational, genealogical purposes. There is certainly no profit to come of this. The Court ruling in this case has reached a brand new level of absurdity…
The January 20, 2023 edition of the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza carried a legal notice from the Regional Court of Włocławek, First Civil Division, announcing a ruling by the Court to the effect that the Court has permitted one Mateusz Dróżdż to deposit with the Court the royal sum of one grosz (about one-quarter of a US cent!!) as security for title to a property designated in the land register as KW WLIW/00105080/5, Hip. 2 which is registered as the property of five individuals of whom two appear to be Jewish:
Kasryel (Katriel) RYDEL and
about whom no other details are given. A review of information available on JewishGen provides two clues:
It appears that the RYDELS and the GŁOWIŃSKIS were related: Members of the two families married during the 19th century in the town of Stryków;
There is some information that points to a RYDEL connection to Paris, France. There is a Parisian RYDEL on the Family Finder. There is also a Yad Vashem entry of someone taken from Paris to Poland during the French deportations.
Given that all of one-quarter of a penny is at stake, even a postage stamp would be a loss for a potential heir. All the same, should someone wish to contact the Court in this matter, please make reference to Docket No. I Ns 620/22. The ”deposit” will be available for a period of three years from the date of the notice.
