My grandmother Sara J’affectionne Hackerman was born in Chernigov Russian/Ukrainian looking for more information on that community. She was born in 1899 I believe and immigrated to Baltimore, Maryland around 1906. I believe they had a brewery and tobacco farm in Russia.

Please excuse the Speech to typing mistake. My grandmother’s maiden name was Jaffe or Jaffa. Her father’s name was Samuel Jaffe and her mother was Bessie Kaplan. My grandmother had sisters Jenny, Mary, Rose and Cecelia Jaffe. 

I am curious to learn more about their life in Chernigov  and if anyone was familiar with this family.
