Silverman Family of Providence #usa

psilver3@...

My grandfather, John (Yaakov) Silverman arrived in Providence from Lemberg (Lviv) in 1911.  He stayed with his aunt and cousins, one also named John.
He joined the Army and chased Pancho Villa with General Pershing.  My grandfather later had a junk yard on Allens Avenue.
I can remember as a child going to Silverman family reunions, but over the years, we lost touch with the cousins.
I have a family tree dating back to around 1800 in Husiatyn, Galicia (now Ukraine).  However, it stops with my grandfather's generation.

I'm looking for lost relatives.

Selma Silverman of Providence, RI, 1914-2007, shows up in my family tree.  She is the daughter of Archibald Silverman, 1880-1966, who, I believe, was in the jewelry business.  If you have not already done so, check several family trees uploaded to Ancestry for Silvermans of Providence for possible connections

Archibald Silverman was in my family.
Do you have more information?
Do you know the name of his father?

I am originally from Providence and my sister married into a Silverman family.  So many Silverman's in Providence.  In addition, my fathers family has a Silverman coming out of Latvia.  I believe in casting a wide net and see what comes up in regarding to a close relationship.  Do you have any DNA date that could assist in any research?  My direct contact information is:

According to the one of the trees uploaded to Ancestry, the St. Cyr/Indorf family tree, Archibald's father was Max (Mordechai), born 1851 in Russia and died 1932 in Providence.  There is also a note that the original family name was Applebaum.

I am also originally from Providence, Rhode Island, and my paternal great grandmother Hinda was a Silverman (or Zilberman). She immigrated from Letychiv (Ladyzhin), Russia, now Ukraine, to Providence in approximately 1905, her husband having emigrated there earlier. When she arrived, she discovered that her husband, possibly Yehuda or Abraham, had married again. I’m looking for any information about any of these persons. Thanks. David M. Charlie,

I do have DNA information, but I can't find it.
If and when I do, I'll send it to you.
I do know that we do not have Silverman relatives from Latvia.
My family were all from Galicia (Poland and Ukraine).
