Subject: ViewMate translation request – Yiddish #translation

Harvey Waroff

I've posted a vital record in Yiddish for which I need a translation. It is on ViewMate at the following address ...

https://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM98540

Please respond via the form provided on the ViewMate image page.

Thank you very much.

In genealogy the term "vital record" refers to Birth Marriage or Death registration.

What you posted on  ViewMate is "[...] writing in Yiddish is on the back of a card. On the other side is a picture of a family of 3."

There are actually few - if any - vital records in Yiddish. When you see do Hebrew characters on vital records (from Russia), the language is usually Hebrew, not Yiddish. Other vital records I've seen (from Galicia, or Austro-Hungary) may have a name in Hebrew characters, not much more.
