Travel information sought for Rose FRIEDSON #usa

Bob Silverstein

I am looking for travel information for Rose Friedson and could not find anything on Ancestry.  She was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, in 1913.  Rose was living in New York City around 1933 when she traveled to Havana.  FamilySearch goes up to only 1925.  Where else could I look for information on this trip.

Thanks,
Bob Silverstein

A lot of New Yorkers and New Englanders booked winter trips to Havana and the Caribbean to escape winter for a while, especially in the 1920-1940 time frame.  The trips were on cruise ships and lasted 1-3 weeks.  I've read that some of the cruise lines offered special fares to even up the single sex ratios.  My ancestors were never flush enough to get tickets.  Maybe that's why they went to California.

Sherri, thank you for the suggestion.  Rose was not in that list.

EdrieAnne, thanks for the information.  Rose's story was that she won a cruise from her employer and chose to visit relatives in Cuba.

I will try Steve Morse and look for visas and cruise line passenger lists.
